CLAS Research Grants Program
The Research Grants Program administered by the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS), a unit of the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, encourages Georgetown faculty and students to conduct research focused on Latin America and the Caribbean. CLAS administers one grant competition each year in the spring semester.
Faculty Research Grants
CLAS Faculty Research Grants support Georgetown faculty in conducting research focused on Latin America and the Caribbean. Eligible activities include:
- Travel for research
- Field research (e.g., surveys)
- Purchase of datasets
- Research assistance
- Translation services
Preference is given to proposals that:
- Foster collaboration across Georgetown centers and programs
- Involve partnerships with institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean
- Include students as research assistants
- Raise Georgetown’s research profile among a broader public
- Indicate plans for future funding
